Girls With Altitude

Working with the teams at Arts Centre Melbourne and Flying Fruit Fly Circus to create these two Education Resources was an absolute hoot! Girls with Altitude has a distinctly feminist throughline, which required these packs to convey an unexpected depth of thematic exploration. A cast of 16 girls teenage girls teeter and tumble their ways through extraordinary circus tricks, under the visionary artistic direction of circus doyenne, Anni Davey. Davey flooded the stage with a curated selection of the iconic animations of Australian illustrator, Judy Horacek. This gloriously colourful and empowering array of projections underpinned the core messaging of the performance: the strength and power of girls. These two packs were each carefully pitched to their different age groups, from the interviews, glossaries and activities, right down to the artists’ bios. Click the two tiles below to access the primary and secondary education packs. What a joy to create!

Here’s what the lovely Bek had to say about our collaboration:

‘Claire was a pleasure to work with when creating education resources for our production of Girls With Altitude. Claire created insightful and accessible educational material for a variety of ages based on the themes from our production. Working directly with our young people they were passionate, positive and knowledgeable throughout the process.’ - Bek Gibbs, Associate Producer | Flying Fruit Fly Circus
