The Caged Birds

This performance of David Campton’s The Caged Birds was an absolute career highlight for me. I worked as Producer and Co-Director with Theatre Studies student Remy Wong, to present this pithy and disturbing little show about the stifling and destructive cycle of female entrapment through the metonymy of pet birds. We adopted an anachronistic reading of this script to emphasis the historical legacy of oppression people in female bodies have faced across history. We presented a modest, but sold out, two-show run in The Fergusson Theatre.
