Mulan

I was honoured to assist Mel McLean as her Directorial Mentor on this production of Disney’s ‘Mulan’, staged in Prudence Lewty Hall. We cast this production together, and from that point on, I was furiously gestating a baby whilst Mel was furiously rehearsing her enormous cast and crew. This was the first show we worked with the dynamic and divine Ashlee Hughes on; her Set Design efforts were subtle and evocative and her capacity to mentor her student team with depth and patience was inspirational to all. Shiv Geaney and Steve Ward came into our lives and Lighting and Sound Designers, which was truly lovely, and the absolutely on top of everything Jackson Banks Harper mentored the backstage crew, or as we call them, our Night Ninjas, within an inch of their lives.
